The fact it was close to the mono rail so could easily get to places and a short tram ride to kl Sentral which is the main hub for other train destinations.

Me and my partner are currently travelling places so we have been used to staying in hostels etc. The Classic Inn is very basic. Ok to stay for a night or two which is what we did. The pictures on Booked.net are quite deceiving. Wasnt quite what we expected upon arrival. It is not the easiest place to find also, not many of the locals/hotels knew where it was based & resulted in us looking for the place for 40 mins in the pouring rain! When we eventually found a local cab driver who knew where it was it is actually situated at the back of the times square shopping mall (where the parking is for the mall). The room was very basic, we had a private room. It was ok. Didnt have the best nights sleep as you can hear everything out the back street. My partner got bitten 8 times in one night by the mossi's so advise to keep the bathroom door shut. Couldnt fault the staff though, smooth check in and the fact that someone is on site 24/7. Ok for a stopover if travelling but would say it is pricey for what it is.Have paid less elsewhere since staying here and have had better quality/comfort.

    Superb

The staff were definitely friendly. We arrived at around 2am and checked in without issue. Location is actually great. It's a 5 min walk to the LRT station.

Shower was leaking. Not that big a deal though. Narrow steps to the front entrance! Not a big winner with those bring heavy luggages!

You get a lot for your money! The rooms are clean when you come in and cleaned every day. Air conditionning. Comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. It's the second time I stay there and I strongly recommend it!

    Fabulous

The Classic Inn is a great value for money hotel. We stayed in a private queen bed room for 3 nights during our stay in kl. The room was clean with new sheets and towels every morning. For travelers who are planning on being out and about during the day this is a wonderful hotel. If you like to stay in your room, relax by the hotel pool while drinking a beer and reading on a holiday, look at other places. Keep in mind that this hotel is also a hostel which attracts a specific type of traveler. One morning, by no fault of the hotel, we were woken up by loud talking in one of the hostel rooms. If you are polite and simply ask the loud-speakers to move out to the common area you'll be just fine. This is what we did and drifted right back to sleep. Breakfast is very good. Normally a rotee with curry. It's made fresh and comes with fruit and toast on the side.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Little extras like bringing you a drink while your checking in really helped. There always seemed to be a member of staff on reception which was great when you needed to ask a question. The location was great, walking distance to the monorail with which you can easily get around the city. And walking distance to the night hawker stalls for good cheap food on the evening. Breakfast was nice, traditional roti canni and cold dahl, fruit, tea and toast with kaya. Enough to fill you up for the whole day! Free wifi worked well and there was a lot of information about what to do in the local areas.

The room was small, which was fine for us as we didn't spend any time in it. Having said that we were the only two in a four bed dorm, with two more backpacks in there it might have been a bit of a squash. There was no lock on the door, I checked if we could have one and couldn't. We felt perfectly safe, only with us two girls in the room we would have preferred an extra level of safety. When I told reception my concerns they said they would be our personal body guards!

    Superb

The breakfast was fantastic, the room was adequate and the bed was super-comfy. I loved the big hardwood floors and the simplicity of the hotel. The outdoor area was interesting, but I preferred indoors with Aircon. The place is really well located and just a short walk from the Monorail. One of the members of staff was helpful and allowed me to pay later after I had taken out cash (so I wouldn't incur the card fee they charge).

There were no directions to this hotel on the website. It is really difficult to find if you don't know your way around KL. Occasionally, I had to wait upwards of five minutes just to get my key from the guy at the desk, just because he was on the phone. Not okay.

    Very good

Room was clean, shower was hot, ac worked perfect. Location is a little bit tricky for first time visitors. Definitely recommend to buy a taxi coupon from central station (I didn't like monorail nor being heavily rip offed by those greedy taxi drivers)

Front woman was a very short answer type. If I ask her how I can go visit Melaka, she bluntly say like "take a bus from the terminal". That's it. So then I need to ask which terminal it is and how I can get there and how to buy a ticket.... Only blunt (nearly unkind) response came back from her. This might not be unique to her because I felt same way everytime I ask local people for direction. Having traveled all over the world, KL was meanest city to me... Classic Inn itself was not a bad place so I can recommend to my friends but will never recommend KL other than compelling reason such as business.

Friendly, helpful staff. Satisfactory breakfast, included in room rate, available right through from 7.00-11.00 am so no rush to get to breakfast. Room clean and comfortable and kept very clean by friendly, helpful maid. The location just behind Times Square and a couple of minutes from the monorail is excellent.

Had to pay full bill in advance. I strongly object to this. Also I had booked using a credit card but was told on check-in that I would have to pay 2% extra unless I paid cash. The telephone in my room - which I presume was supposedly included in the room rate - was not working throughout my stay. I couldn't call the desk or call out and it was very inconvenient for friends trying to contact me. Also, arranged wake up calls did not happen which was a problem. The excuse about the telephone was that 'things happen slowly in Malaysia'. Excuses like that are not acceptable - services paid for ought to be provided. Finally I was kept awake until 2.00 am one morning by noise from the hotel desk staff and had to complain.

    Exceptional

The helpful staff went out of their way to make my stay welcoming and enjoyable. Its very clean and the dorms are A/C,comfortable and well maintained. Lockers are available too which are essential in a communal environment and seldom provided. The price includes a Malaysian breakfast which makes the dorm very good value for money. I was in a four bed room which although small was space enough.. The bedding was spotless and each bunk has its own reading lamp.

Minor points for a solo traveller. Although everything is provided for a comfy stay I found the place curiously unsociable. The reason why is straight forward. The dining/smoking area outside is dominated by a huge tv which although not loud is omni present. Its a conversation stopper. Mellow music would be better. Plus the chairs are hard and uncomfortable which is a shame, it discourages clients to 'hang out'. Lastly larger fewer but larger tables would create a friendlier vibe. People are shy and sometimes need to be 'obliged' to share. Just by sharing a table the ice is broken and friendships begin.

The hotel met my expectations. It had simple, but clean and sufficiently comfortable rooms for a few days. The locations was amazing, being really just a stone throw away from the Time Square shopping mall. It is budget accomodation with a reasonable price-quality balance. The only slight downside of the location is that being across this mall it is also just across of the aircon vents of the mall, wich do produce a quite large amount of (wind/blowing) noise. Still, it didn't keep me awake, but it might bother some. Service and all other aspects seemed ok to me.

The only downside is that it can be slightly noisy due to ventilation outputs of the shoppings malls aircon system across the street. However, this is not really a fault of the hotel itself off course.

    Very good

The location is excellent, only 2 minutes walk from the back of Time Square. 5 minutes walk from IMBI monorail station. Breakfast is served by the staff in this budget hotel. I stayed at some budget hotels before, most of them do not provide breakfast. But Classic Inn does. The breakfast include toast, roti canai, fruits and beverage.

There is no lift in this hotel. If you have heavy or bulky luggages, be prepared to hand carry them up and down when you check in and out. The water heater in my room doesn't function well. Even if i set it at minimum heat. but the temperature was extremely hot and burning. So i have to turn off the heater frequently to avoid having skin-burnt. There are some mosquitoes in the room.

The outdoor breakfast area, rustic feeling.

Room is basic paint and no windows and very small. One of the room's air con is not working properly and hotel staff cannot fix it. So its warm & stuffy. Its a backpackers accomodation, not suitable for family especially when you have children or older folks. Shower & toilet is together and it is small area, so everything gets wet.

A good value for money - superclose to Jerbaya shopping mall and Imbi MRT station. Stayed in a single room - it was ok, with a big TV flat screen. Staff is very friendly. Housekeepin gis every day.

Room was a bit worn out and had some ants. Staff took care of it by desinfecting. During my stay there was not much of a backpackers vibe - perhaps b/c of the season? (late November)

    Fabulous

Clean, cheap, with friendly staff, just across the road from shopping mall with supermarkets and places to eat. Comfortable bed. Efficient air-con.

Quite basic room, no wardrobe or cupboard. Tiny bathroom. Bathroom window/ventilator had no glass so mosquitos could get in.
